Have you seen the videos of Trump's deputized Klansmen where they say to protesters, "Haven't you learned anything from what's happened?"
What they're saying is that the first amendment is DEAD. They are saying that citizens NO LONGER have the right to protest our government's actions. They are saying , "haven't you learned yet that if you speak up and protest, we have the right -- and Donald Trump's blessing -- to kill you? "
Such videos reminded me of Emmett Lee Dickinson's poem "Dare we disobey him?" below on the left. He seems to be speaking of some low-IQ authoritarian leader who thinks he has all the answers and who desperately wants to be loved -- but he is so cruel-hearted corrupt and incompetent that his citizens refuse to fall in line. The fourth line of the poem parallels what Trump's Murder of Klansmen (to borrow the collective noun used for crows) are barking at protesters: "Haven't you learned anything from what's happened?"
I love the ending of the poem: the speaker asks "what should we do?" Should we just fall in line and love the dullard? The final line says it all: "no-can-do."

The poem seemed particular fitting to post today, too, because the White House just rolled out third-lady Melania Trump's new platform, "BEST BE," a sequel to her earlier ineffective and lackluster "BE BEST" campaign. In this current crusade, Melania is ordering all citizens to be compliant, silent and loyal to the hallmarks of the Trump so-called "administration": chaos, cruelty, incompetence, and corruption.
Once again, I'm reminded of that final line of Emmett Lee Dickinson's poem: no-can-do.
