Okay, so how about this? Do you all relate to this – when something exciting happened at school (or perhaps you learned something really interesting), and you couldn’t wait to share the day’s excitement with others?
Look at this wonderful little poem by Dickinson, “the Hills in Purple syllables.” The hills can’t wait to tell of their adventures “just going Home from School” – and I assume their teacher was Mother Nature – and since their syllables were “Purple,” I wonder if they were excited to share the start of spring? |
Or perhaps in today’s poem, there was a spectacular sunrise? Afterall, another of Dickinson’s poems begins, “The Sun—just touched the Morning / The Morning—Happy thing / Supposed that He had come to dwell / And Life would all be Spring!”
Ah – there’s springtime again!
What do you think the Hills are excited about?
