| Is the legend of Trumpus true? Could there be such a beast so vile, vulgar and evil? It defies belief, no? As I pondered those questions, I remembered Emmett Lee Dickinson's poem "When Villains are a Legend" in which the poet considered that same debate. Could there be a horned, half-goat, half-demon creature from GOP folklore, whose sole mission is to destroy the US Constitution, dismantle our government, and establish a Christian-based Fascist regime that strips citizens of healthcare, food and programs of assistance, engages in human trafficking and protects known felons and pedophiles from incarceration? It seems far-fetched -- but then....maybe not? I've posted Dickinson's poem below on the left.. His poem inspired his third cousin Emily to pen her poem "When Diamonds are a Legend," below on the right. |
