What did you do in response to the first election of Donald Trump?

 | I, too, turned to poetry. As the world’s leading authority on Emmett Lee Dickinson (Emily Dickinson’s third cousin, twice removed – at her request), I immersed myself into my research of his anti-Trump poetry, much of which is HERE (pages and pages worth). My site also includes many posts on Trump with out poetry, HERE. In the latest EDIS Journal, I came across a book review for “Within Flesh,” another work in response to Trump. Here’s how the review opened: |
“Within Flesh is a new volume of poetry written collaboratively by Al Salehi and Ivy Schweitzer, who draw on poems by Emily Dickinson to respond to political and social unrest in our current moment. In particular, the authors address the events surrounding Donald Trump’s first election and tenure as president and the Black Lives Matter movement.”
I ordered the book, and it arrived yesterday. Sooo…in the coming days…I’ll let you know more about it.
