Earlier this month I received an email about a post entitled “Emily Dickinson’s Poems As She Preserved Them” by Stefano Esengrini, “an essayist, translator, and editor,” according to his bio. I assumed the content would be a review of Cristanne Miller’s book by that same name. I was surprised to find that it was, in fact, a PDF of Miller’s complete book, linked HERE (unless by chance it gets taken down).
Hmm…is that legal? LOL. Maybe he has her permission to post the entire book? It looks like he has scans of other books, too, listed down the right hand side of the page (for ex: R. W. Franklin’s edition of Dickinson’s poetry). The PDF is 858 pages.
Does anyone know the legalities about this? Since this site is used for educational purposes and research, is this legit (i.e., scanning and posting an author’s complete book)?
