WASHERST, PENNSYLVANIA

The Dickinson Organization of Poetry Enthusiasts (DOPE) and the Emmett Lee Dickinson Museum (above the coin-op Laundromat) in Washerst, PA, present the panelists, speakers and guests for the 2013 meeting of DOPE in October 2013 to celebrate the 210th birthday of Emmett Lee Dickinson, Emily Dickinson’s third cousin twice removed (at her request).

LIndsay Lohan

Lohan will lead a four-hour symposium on her addiction to Dickinson.  “I can’t be rehabilitated,” she said when she announced to the press that she would attend this year’s convention of DOPEs. “I’ve been DOPEd for years,” she added.

Kathy Griffin
In a day and age when women weren’t educated, Griffin’s progressive parents sent Kathy to the Emmett Lee Dickinson for Boys in Manhattan as “Cory” Griffin. Griffin will speak on her love of Dickinson– and her life as “Cory” at the prestigious 
boys’ school that bears his name.

Samuel L. Jackson

Jackson, a native of Washerst, PA, attended the Washerst Dry Cleaning Academy. He will present a fascinating look at advances in the field of dry cleaning including an in-depth look at solvent processing, fabric restoration, and the “miracle of Martinizing.”
