KEYNOTE SPEAKERS & OTHER GUESTS

Portland's "Wall of Moms"

They made sure their kids cleaned their plates before going out to protest, and they stared down Trump's secret gestapo sent to fan the flames of discord and violence -- and now in October they'll be in Washerst, PA (the birthplace of poet Emmett Lee Dickinson, Emily Dickinson's third cousin, twice removed -- at her request), for the annual 2020 conference of the Dickinson Organization of Poetry Enthusiasts to read some of their favorite anti-Trump poetry!

Rosie O'Donnell as L. L. Langstroth

Rev. Lorenzo Lorraine Langstroth was an American apiarist, clergyman and teacher, and he is considered to be the father of American beekeeping.  At the 2020 DOPE conference, Rosie O'Donnell will begin her North American tour in her one-woman show about Langstroth.  Plus, in a special session on Emily & Emmett Lee Dickinsons' poetry about bees, O'Donnell will give an update on the status of murder hornets.

Boban Karadordevic

World renowned Memorologist and Anamnesis Specialist Boban Karadordevic will present new insights into the cognitive abilities of Emmett Lee Dickinson (Emily Dickinson's third cousin, twice removed -- at her request), thought to be the most cognitively adept poet ever.  "Dickinson would not only do well on cognitive tests," said Karadordevic, "but he would always score extra points."

By Emmett Lee Dickinson:

When Memory is lost
And lucid Thought is spent –
Will someone feed my cats for me
And bear my monthly rent –

By Emily Dickinson:

When Memory is full
Put on the perfect Lid –
This morning’s finest syllable
Presumptuous Evening said –

Gard Bertlesen

Gard Bertlesen, the Senior Optimization and Interaction Functionality Coordinator for Post-Modern Research at New York's Whitney Museum, will present a three-day symposium on the influence of candy corn on the world of art.  Some of the major works to be discussed are depicted below.

In the midst of the postmodern art tumult of the 1980’s there emerged a group of artists whose artwork was outwardly focused on those who were critical of candy corn in a broad Debordian sense. Focusing on candy corn in the postmodern culture, critical artists depicted the “dark” side of the anti-candy corn movement from their multiple perspectives. They did this with well-crafted works that communicate on a broader less “elitist” level. These artists are certainly not neutral toward candy corn; rather, they are hyper critical of candy cornists, those who quick to disparage the world’s favorite candy.
