Lady G. was right when he tweeted, "If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed.......and we will deserve it." I don't expect Lady G to summon up enough courage to vote to convict, though. He's carried Trump's balls on the golf course one too many times to think otherwise.
Our nation was nearly destroyed by Trump -- but the fact of the matter is, though, that he was enabled to do so by the GOP (or should I say QOP? GQP? GOPQ?).
Sadly, most RepubliQan senators are so far down the QAnon rabbit hole that they would rather abandon our constitution and transform our democratic republic into a Banana RepubliQ headed by a grifter.
If inciting an insurrection to overthrow our government is not extreme enough to warrant conviction, then what the (insert the expletive of your choice here) is?
In honor of the Democratic party’s courage to do what is right – and in hopes that enough RepubliQans will break ranks and join them – I have posted Emmett Lee Dickinson’s poem “A Criminal conviction” below on the left.
Dickinson’s poem inspired third cousin Emily to pen her poem “The Chemical conviction,” below of the right.
