I believe I'm the only one with these cubes of the rainbow, Lumino's Optical Filter Prisms. My mother-in-law bought them for me as a birthday gift years ago. I have no idea where she found them (probably on QVC because she was an avid watcher), and I've never known anyone else to have a set. I found this ad (below) when I tried a Google search to find them:
The cubes came with a fourteen-page booklet too. Take a look at the colorful information included in the manual:

 | What's with that "tonal" mumbo-jumbo (on the page shown at the left)? What could that mean? These cubes produce no sound that I can create with them. They do "clack" if you hit two together -- but I cannot figure out how they "generate sounds which are tuned to the basic harmonic intervals." "Each axis produces a distinct pitch"? Huh? How? They're are just solid lucite cubes. Is there a musicologist out there who can help me decipher all of this? |
