NUMBER 9: Lady Gaga, a lover of candy corn, demands six two-pound bags of candy corn in her hotel rooms and dressing rooms when she travels during her concert tours. As a matter of fact, candy corn is responsible for how she got her name: While gorging on the treat while a student at NYU, she kept repeating, “This lady’s gaga for candy corn.” Pictured at the left: Lady Gaga -- with her fingernails painted as her favorite candy, candy corn. |
NUMBER 8: For several years in the 1930s, the island nation of Vanuatu used candy corn as their currency. They had to change to another form, though, when the country went into debt because islanders ate all of the legal tender. As a result, they now use “vatu,” chocolate coins wrapped in thin, gold foil. |
NUMBER 7: Throughout the month of October, Kraft Foods always releases a special variety of their macaroni and cheese, a microwaveable version with candy corn.
