Forbes Magazine recently released a list of happiest jobs of 2015. According to their criteria, the happiest job of all is that of a school principal. Last year the happiest job was database administrator. I wonder what happened to make the database admins slip from the top of the list? I suppose all the news of the recent data breaches didn’t help!
The second happiest job for 2015 is executive chef, and the third happiest is loan officer. The economy must be doing better than I thought.
The unhappiest job of 2015 is that of a security guard, followed by merchandiser (a whaaa?) and salesperson.
The Emmett Lee Dickinson Museum (above the coin-op Laundromat on Dickinson Boulevard) also commissioned a study on jobs recently. We set out to discover the loneliest jobs of 2015, and the results are below:
1. Librarian
2. Poet
3. Philosopher
4. Crabber
5. Lumberjack
6. Game Warden
7. Horse Whisperer
8. The Elmo Character in Times Square
9. Traveling Petting Zoo Custodian
10. Funeral Home Cosmetologist
To help those in the loneliest of all the possible jobs – librarians – the ELD Museum is proud to join forces with the American Library Association to develop a dating app exclusively for librarians.
