All of the news coverage and the multitude of Twitter tweets reminded us of a now-classic poem by Emmett Lee Dickinson (Emily Dickinson's third cousin, twice removed -- at her request) called " Upon his Lectern sprung a Bird" (below on the left). His poem inspired third cousin Emily to pen her poem "Upon his Saddle sprung a Bird" (below on the right).
