In March 2015 the entire research team at the Emmett Lee Dickinson Museum (above the coin-op laundromat on Dickinson Boulevard in historic Washerst) cruised the Caribbean on the Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Epic. However, this cruise was not for rest, relaxation, recreation and/or mental rehabilitation. No. This cruise was for research and scholarly investigation.

4. The push for around-the-clock nacho buffets on party ships.
Emily Dickinson invented the recipe for Cajun nachos. Emmett Lee Dickinson improved her creation by inventing the nacho bar. He then took the idea one step further and established the first nacho bar on a river boat. Now, 24/7 access to a nacho bar is an industry standard, and the cruise line industry estimates that the inclusion of unlimited nacho bars has increased passenger growth by as much as 47%.

On the back of a wrapper of Parisian baking chocolate Emily Dickinson scribbled the words "Cajun nachos" -- and one can only presume she was experimenting with an added ingredient for a platter of what was her favorite meal!

After sampling Cajun nachos for the first time, Emily Dickinson grabbed the plate from the table and refused to share them with brother Austin and sister Lavinia. That night, she wrote the following poem:
