World-renowned librarian therapist Dr. Eugenia Doldrums is in Orlando this week for the ALA annual convention to report out her findings on this devastating malady, also known as "Google-itis."
"Globally, an estimated 3.2 million reference librarians are living with CPDD today, compared to just 40,000 in 2007," Dr. Doldrums reported to the executive board of the ALA. She also noted that there is a critical window for invention to mitigate the risks associated with this disorder as she called for huge efforts on the part of the ALA to change the public's searching habits.
