The Trump presidency is over (Click HERE) – and now, when America needs leadership the most, he takes no responsibility. He is literally the aged crank hollering, “Get off my lawn” (and his “lawn” is rapidly becoming a hellish landscape of his own making).
He is a petulant dotard who spends his day ranting and raving on Twitter. He’s the proverbial rat trapped in a corner, albeit an unstable and unintelligent rat. America is at the mercy of “a deadly lack of leadership” (Click HERE – from the linked Times’ article: “America needs a leader; it has a lout”). Amid the stress, the anxiety, and the fear we are all feeling, today would be a good day for Trump to resign. This “churlish child…among serious leaders” calls to mind Emmett Lee Dickinson’s poem, “Yo, Rat – surrender here” (below on the left). Dickinson’s poem inspired third cousin Emily to pen her poem, “A Rat surrendered here” (below on the right). |
By Emmett Lee Dickinson: Yo, Rat – surrender here Your brief career of Smear And Fraud and Fear. Of Ignominy’s due He is entitled to Beware. His most dividing Trap His tendency to snap Cannot persist – Damnation is his Friend Repugnant he – resign At last. | By Emily Dickinson: A Rat surrendered here A brief career of Cheer And Fraud and Fear. Of Ignominy's due Let all addicted to Beware. The most obliging Trap Its tendency to snap Cannot resist -- Temptation is the Friend Repugnantly resigned At last. |
