The Secret's Out -- Part 1

I just retired as of September 1st (**insert celebratory emoji here**), and no, that's not "the secret."  But as of this month, I retired after 28 years as an educator with another 13 years in the middle working in the hotel industry.  Most recently I was the principal of a public middle school -- and that is where "the secret" comes in. 

I started this site in March of 2013, shortly after I published two books of parodies of poetry, Great American Poems -- REPOEMED, volumes 1 and 2 (info HERE).  Then, in 2015, after Donald Trump announced his candidacy for the presidency of the United States, I would include an occasional post in my plog (poety blog) about his campaign.  However, as the election neared, I included more frequent posts about the vile miscreant. 

I'll be honest -- I kept my politics out of my job.  However, I did worry as I included more frequent & critical  posts about the grifter that some crazy MAGAt  would stumble upon one of my unfavorable posts, become unglued, and then go all Karen on me.  The last thing I wanted was a bunch of right-wing crazies braying about something I had posted.​

The solution?  I took down the bio about myself on my site's "About Us" page, and then I added a bunch of phony names as "Contributors."  Then whenever I would post an unsavory piece about the Orange Clown in my plog, I would add, "From our political correspondent, Dorothy Dawe" or "From our Current Affairs Editor, Lemuel Stuart III."

The truth?  It was all me.  There is no Lemuel Stuart III. There is no Emerson Nettles.  There is no Dorothy Dawe.  

Hee hee --  I even listed Dorothy Dawe's nickname as "Lottie," as in "Lottie Dawe."  La-di-da.  I figured no MAGAt was smart enough to pick up on that.

Plus, I tended to think that any supporter in Trump's Klan would have little to no interest in poetry.  I figured the odds were minimal that a Trump Klansman or woman would stick around once they saw that this site included poetry. 

Still, I'm a believer in Murphy's Law -- so I supposed that there was always some chance -- albeit slim -- that some racist hayseed, some Trumpanzee (scientifically known as Compliticus Idiotica) or some member of Trump's Twitler youth would unwittingly chance upon  one of my posts and  have a slow and arduous epiphany -- not knowing whether to check his ass or scratch his watch -- and then having a duck fit, realizing that I had revealed some ugly truth about Trump's racism, his misogyny, his crimes, or his immoral character.

Well, now I that I have retired, I figure it's time to retire the phony names of the other, insightful contributors to this site.

And there you have it.  The secret's out.  : )
