I looked up how many poems Dickinson wrote in which she used the word “daisy” (and “daisies”) – 28 different poems” – and posted one below, “If I should die.”
A note in Miller’s compilation of Dickinson’s poems states, “the Panic of 1857 bankrupted, among other ‘enterprise[s],’ the railroad company in which ED’s father and the town of Amherst were deeply invested.”
